** For a list of pet foods NOT on the recall list, go to The Pet Food List **
Thanks to Judy who posted this message in the comments just a little while ago…
I was in Kroger last nite. Noticed “Natural Life” removed from shelves, with signs posted of its recall by Kroger. Contaced Natural Life today-rep. said they didn’t know why Kroger had pulled Natural Life. I just got off phone with Kroger. Kroger said they pulled it because Natural Life and Kroger’s brand, Pet Pride, are both made by Menu, and as a precaution, Kroger was pulling every brand made by Menu.
Sure enough! Even though the products they pulled off the shelf are NOT on the recall list, Kroger pulled all wet food (canned and pouches) made by Menu Foods as precaution. From their website…
Kroger’s decision to recall all wet pet food produced by Menu Foods goes beyond the initial recall announced by Menu Foods. Kroger has taken this additional step as an extra precaution until we are satisfied that Menu Foods can assure our customers that these specific products are safe for consumption by your pets. Again, this elective recall does not include dry dog food products….
If you have purchased any recalled pet food products included in this expanded recall, please return them to your local Kroger store for a full refund.
See the entire announcement from Kroger here.
Way to go, Kroger! Thank you!!
OK…the rest of you retailers…where’s your expanded recall notice?
