Dear Site Hound,
My husband and I have been having a silly argument lately. We're trying to remember the words to a jingle. It was for dog food and went something like "my dog's better than your dog." He says it was for Vets dog food but I know it was for Ken-L Ration. HELP! We've got a steak riding on it, and I'm hungry!
Andrea - San Mateo, CA

Dear Andrea,
Well, my dear, decide how you want that steak because the jingle was for Ken-L Ration! No gloating though, or your steak may come out burnt, OK?! Mom's Cooking is a nifty site that has the words and real audio file for the Ken-L Ration jingle and many other all-time favorites. If you're like me you'll get a bit nostalgic and find yourself meowing along as you listen to the timely tune for Meow Mix cat food, you'll shake your head at the attitude of the infamous Nine Lives spokescat, Morris, and chuckle at the Taco Bell Chihuahua. Have fun! And be sure to share that steak with your favorite barking buddy!

Giving medication:

If your pet is on medication, be sure to let your pet sitter know. If there are extensive instructions that go along with it, include giving a shot, or giving sub-Q fluids it's a good idea to meet with your pet sitter and show him or her how it's done. Also make sure your he or she is aware of the medication schedule and amounts. And, as always, be sure your pet sitter has your vet's contact information as well as your own.
